Subject Analysis: A Blitz Cataloging by Bobby Ferguson, X

Subject Analysis: A Blitz Cataloging by Bobby Ferguson, X
Designed to assist library science students, copy catalogers, and paraprofessionals in learning the principles and practices of modern cataloging, these three volumes provide a variety of exercises on MARC cataloging, Anglo-American Cataloging Rules (AACR), authority control, subject headings (LCSH and Sears List of Subject Headings), classification (Library of Congress and Dewey Decimal), and nonbook cataloging (computer files, sound recordings, video recordings, maps, and kits). The series covers both general cataloging information and specific MARC tags, series entries, and the use of such tools as the Subject Cataloging Manual: Subject Headings, LCSH, AACR2r, and Sears List of Subject Headings. It also addresses construction of MARC authority records and bibliographic records, and the detection and correction of cataloging errors.

Sears House Designs of the Thirties by Sears Roebuck and Co,
Sears House Designs of the Thirties by Sears Roebuck and Co,
Proudly promoting itself as "the largest home building organization in the world, " Sears, Roebuck and Company advertised its 1932 products in a handsome catalog that also displayed a full-size replica of Mount Vernon, created from Sears materials for a Paris exposition in 1932. At the heart of the publication were 68 designs for Sears houses, among them such handsome residences as the Belmont, a six-room house with vestibule, breakfast alcove, three bedrooms, and one-and-a-half baths; and the Dover, an English cottage with a massive chimney and unusual roof lines. A useful reference for people interested in preserving homes of this period, this volume will also be welcomed by anyone who relishes a glimpse of America's architectural past.

Sears Catalog Home - Sears Catalog Homes (sold as Sears Modern Homes) were ready-to-assemble houses which were sold through mail order by Sears Roebuck and Company, a United States retailer. Over 100,000 of these were sold in the country between 1908 and 1940.

Sears Canada Bank - Sears Bank of Canada was created to services the Sears cards issued by Sears Canada, but does not provide any other financial services.

Card catalog (cryptology) - The card catalog, or "catalog of characteristics," in cryptology, was a system designed, and first completed about 1935, by Polish Cipher Bureau mathematician-cryptologist Marian Rejewski to facilitate decrypting German Enigma messages. The card catalog was produced over more than a year's time, using the cyclometer invented by Rejewski about 1934.

Stamp catalog - A stamp catalog (or stamp catalogue) is a catalog of postage stamp types. Although basically just a list of descriptions and prices, in practice the catalog is an essential tool of stamp collecting.
